Your Case Study
We hope that this Toolkit will continue to grow and evolve and inspire more people to become a part of the small scale crop movement, but in order to stay current and relevant it needs your input too.
Grown in Totnes and Dartington Mill are just two models of local crop growing, processing and marketing enterprises and we know that there are many, many more out there. Different models and methods will inspire others to have different approaches and feed the imagination for future innovative solutions. If you have a different experience then we would encourage you to share it; both the successes that you have had and the inevitable challenges and pitfalls that you encountered along the way.
We have designed this website to be easy for others to add their case studies to. We have used a simple web platform called Squarespace. The content can be very basic (see the Dartington Mill case study). Follow the chapter headings that we have used throughout the toolkit and write as much, or as little content as you like in the chapters that are appropriate to your story:
Chapter 01: Planning Your Enterprise
Chapter 02: Growing the Crops
Chapter 03: Processing Facilities
Chapter 04: Harvesting
Chapter 05: Crop Care
Chapter 06: Processing the Crops
Chapter 07: Pricing & Delivery
Chapter 08: Marketing
The UK Grain Lab have kindly agreed to upload your case study on to the Toolkit website for you. Include a couple of photos for each chapter and send these with the written content and any relevant resources in an email to info@ukgrainlab.com.
If you want to create a more complex case study and include videos, animations etc then it maybe necessary to work with the original designer/animator for the Toolkit. Contact the UK Grain Lab who will put you in touch with Emilio Mula.
